WELD Impact Lab · Work with WELD

Bring a workplace
question.

Maybe a difficult conversation keeps getting postponed. Maybe a new technology is changing how people work together. We work with organizations to understand those experiences and explore what could help.

Inside TeamSpace

A workplace story
you step into.

It’s Thursday afternoon. On Monday, your customer support team starts using an AI tool to draft replies. The launch date is set, but reviewing those drafts will fall to the same people already handling a backlog. You’re leading the rollout.

TeamSpace
An interactive WELD story
# the-pilotA short fictional preview

Thursday · 3:42 PM

The launch is Monday.

The team is talking through a few early results. Catch up on the conversation, then open Jordan’s private message and write back in your own words.

The interactive preview needs JavaScript. If you are editing this page, save and open it outside the editor to try the story.

Fictional characters and scripted messages. Aria is an assistant character, not live AI. Your reply appears only in this preview and is cleared when you restart or reload. This demo does not transmit or save it.

Beyond TeamSpace

The story doesn’t stay in the chat.

A colleague’s message is one part of a working day. The next might be a résumé to review, an email to answer, or a presentation that needs your feedback.

In our immersive stories, participants take part through activities like these as the situation unfolds. They encounter information, make decisions, and respond in their own words. For research, we can hold the surrounding experience consistent while varying specific details tied to the question we want to study.

What could we explore together?

The questions come
from your workplace.

How do people ask for help when they worry it will change how others see them? What happens when a team adopts AI? Whose perspective is missing from a decision? We begin with the situation you want to understand.

01 · In conversation

Workshops and facilitated conversations

Make time to explore mental health, wellbeing, personal values, and the human side of leadership. We draw on experience with students, managers, and executives to shape a session around your audience.

02 · Through evidence

Assessments and research partnerships

Turn a broad concern into a question we can investigate together. We can discuss whether surveys, interviews, or another research approach would help you understand people’s experiences.

03 · Through a story

Immersive workplace experiences

Give people a situation to think through from the inside. A story can unfold through messages, decisions, and different perspectives, with time to reflect together afterward.

Our workshop experience provides a foundation for this work. Immersive experiences are a developing part of the lab’s approach, with each engagement scoped together around the question, audience, and setting.

Beyond the preview

A conversation can
continue tomorrow.

TeamSpace offers a brief glimpse of the format. A fuller story could return over several days as the situation develops, new information arrives, and participants encounter another person’s perspective.

We can shape the experience around a question in your organization and discuss how reflection or research might accompany it. The story creates something concrete to talk about; what people take from it is a question to explore.

Getting started

You don’t need a
finished proposal.

Tell us what is happening and what you’re curious about. We’ll talk through whether there is a useful way to work together.

  1. Start with the question.Who is involved, and what would you like to understand or change?
  2. Agree on an approach. We’ll discuss the audience, format, timing, and scope before making commitments.
  3. Make room for learning. We’ll plan the experience and any feedback or research alongside it.
  4. Discuss what comes next.Reflect on what emerged and what it could mean for your team.
